How to Add Images to Content

WordPress

  1. Login to the backend e.g. www.yoursite.com.au/wp-admin.
  2. Either create a new article, or edit an existing article.
  3. Once within the article editor, click ‘Add Media’howtoadd1
  4. Click the upload files tab and upload your imageshowtoadd2
  5. Fill in details for title, alt text and description

  6. Click ‘insert into post’

Joomla

  1. Login to the backend e.g. www.yoursite.com.au/administrator.
  2. Dropdown ‘Content’ (top menu) to Article Manager
  3. Either create a new article, or edit an existing article
  4. Once within the article editor, select the ‘Insert/Edit Image’ button (see image below)

  5. Click the ‘Upload’ Button (See image below (1))
    1. Note: You will need to resize your image appropriately before uploading (usually no larger than 800px wide).
      1. Refer to the Recommended Software
        1. Go to Number 46, Image Resizer Clone and download
        2. You can view usage instructions here: Software Quickguide, under ‘Image Resizer’
    2.  Uploading Images
  6. Add alternate text (3) (what the image is called, and what will come up as a caption)
  7. Add image dimensions (2) in pixels (how big the image will appear, usually 200 to 400 width)
  8. Next to Alignment, select how you want your image to be aligned (usually right)
  9. Click the ‘Insert’ button
  10. Continue Editing or Save the article
